Operating theatres play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate surgical care to our local community. Across our hospitals, our highly skilled multidisciplinary theatre teams support a wide range of surgical specialties, ensuring patients receive high‑quality treatment in a clean, modern, and well‑equipped environment.
Our SERVICES
Our theatres provide opportunities not only for excellent patient care, but also for continuous learning, professional development, and interprofessional collaboration.
We have 17 operating theatres throughout The Dudley Group:
- 10 in main theatres
- 4 in the day surgery unit (DSU)
- 1 in the DSU at Corbett Hospital
- 2 obstetric theatres within maternity department
- Minor procedure rooms (MPR)
We also operate in a purpose-built specialised interventional suite in the imaging department, as well as anaesthetising patients for CT and MRI scans.

"Each theatre is staffed by experienced theatre practitioners, including operating department practitioners, registered nurses, anaesthetic and recovery practitioners, theatre support workers, and medical workforce. The teams work collaboratively to deliver seamless, patient‑centred surgical care from pre‑op assessment to post‑operative recovery. "
